MY VENUE REVIEWS.

Some of the greatest aspects of performing wedding ceremonies, is going to so many different places and meeting so many people.  Whether you get married in your own, or someone else's, backyard or in a lavish church or park setting, that space is yours for that moment in time, and will be a part of your photos and lifelong memories.  Be creative in choosing a location that feels right for you and can accommodate those you want to share this moment with.  Make sure you have a contact that is responsive to your questions, forthcoming about their guidelines, and comfortable to talk to.  The venues I am posting on here are the ones I've specifically worked at, or with, for the weddings I've performed.  Please note that these are only my personal opinions...  I receive no monetary compensation for these opinions and I would always encourage you to visit the venues, and talk to others who've experienced working with them before making any decision. Visit my page "OTHER WEDDING RESOURCES" for links to venues I know about, but have not yet worked at, or articles and reviews on venues in the area.

Fore Honor Event Center

(formerly Deer Creek)

House Springs, Missouri

One of my favorite, and one of the most scenic, venues for both weddings and receptions, the Fore Honor Event Center is nestled into the hills in Jefferson County and offers gorgeous views year-round.  The staff work hard to help get everything set up perfectly, and is right there throughout the event if you need anything.

Did I mention the spectacular view?

Missouri Botanical Garden

St. Louis, Missouri

I performed my very first wedding ceremony at Missouri Botanical Garden, under the gazebo near the hedge maze.  If you've never been to the Botanical Garden, you've missed out on a truly unique and culturally beneficial piece of St. Louis history.  Opened to the public in 1859, the Garden is a place to enjoy the landscape and see scientific botany research at its best.  This is a favorite wedding spot in St. Louis; they can accommodate a small, intimate wedding, or a lavish ceremony.

Jefferson Barracks Park

St. Louis, Missouri

I've performed weddings at two locations inside Jefferson Barracks Park.  The Magazine Museum patio is large and has an amazing view overlooking the Mississippi, and the Wedding Garden is a smaller, more intimate setting behind the Laborers' House.

There are other locations within JB Park for weddings, so take your time to explore.  Please note that most County Parks locations need to be booked a year ahead of time.

Anheuser Estate

Kimmswick, Missouri

visitkimmswick.com/anheuser_estate

This small estate overlooks the Mississippi River, has a platform overlook and a small gazebo.  I've done a few of my weddings here, and the one thing that impressed me, aside from the gorgeous view, is the amount of room inside the house for the bride to get ready.

There isn't much parking available here, but enough for a small to medium sized wedding.

Villa Antonio Winery

Hillsboro, Missouri

One of my favorite local places to visit; I would encourage checking it out whether you ever have an event there or not.  This family-owned and operated winery is very close to my home, so I get to enjoy it often.  For picnics, small get-togethers or as a wedding venue, Villa Antonio has a great deal to offer.  Beautiful scenery, ample parking, good music, good food, and of course, wine.  I've gone there alone, and with family and friends, and have performed weddings there, as well.  It is family friendly, and can accommodate small or lavish weddings.
